2009 KIDS WORLD BJJ TOURNAMENT GENERAL INFORMATION

GI and NO GI TOURNAMENT ON SATURDAY

ALL KIDS & TEENS COMPETE ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH

Competitors:
Kids & Teens - $60.00
If a kid or teen wants to compete in the GI and the NO GI event an additional $30.00 will be due, for a total of $90.00 for both events

Spectators: (per day)
Adults (16 and above) - $10.00
Kids (3 and older) - $5.00
Kids (under 3) – FREE

NO COACHES OR INSTRUCTORS WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE COMPETITION FLOOR. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.

Referees:
Must be a Black Belt and Certified Referee under the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation

Code Of Conduct:
A referee should always respect fair play. He/She should see that all competitors display their techniques to the best of their ability. It is not enough for a referee to mechanically conduct a match. He/She must exert his best efforts in each match to conduct the match smoothly and professionally so that the result can be satisfactory to all parties. A referee must always do his/her best to make a just decision and accept the full responsibility for that decision. A referee should regard all students as the same, never favoring one competitor over another.

Competitors:

GI / Uniform:
All competitors must wear a SOLID colored Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu GI either all white, all blue or all black in color. No other colors of any kind will be permitted. NO mixing of colors (i.e. white pants with blue top or vice versa). Competitors must compete with regulation GI only. A regulation GI is 4 finger cuff clearance with sleeves to be no shorter than 2” between wrist and sleeve of GI. Male competitors are not allowed to wear any clothing underneath the GI including t-shirts, rash guards, etc. Female competitors are allowed to wear a t-shirt or rash guard under their GI. All competitors will be required to weigh in right before their division is to compete and will have to weigh in with their GI on.

Competitor Disqualification:
The following are grounds for disqualification. If a competitor calls ”time out” because of an injury or to adjust GI / belt, the competitor will be automatically disqualified. If a referee calls “time out” for any of the above listed reasons the match will continue without penalties.

Any foul language, cursing, obscene gestures or comments aimed at a referee, the audience, a fellow competitor or any tournament official will result in automatic disqualification.

Any biting, eye gouging, hair pulling, fingers in the nose, intentionally injuring genitalia area or spitting on an opponent will result in disqualification.

When the athlete breaks any rule or regulation of the tournament.

All referees and tournament officials reserve the right to disqualify any competitor at any time.

Awards:

Awards will be given to competitors as follows:
(1) 1st Place
(1) 2nd Place
(1) 3rd Place

Team Trophies:
Top 3 Kid schools will receive trophies.

Points will be as follows:
1st Place – 3 Points
2nd Place – 2 Points
3rd Place – 1 Point
